So much has been said about the gospel of
grace, its revolutionary teachings have flooded the Church lately. So much also
has been said about the danger of such teachings in the wake of an
unprecedented rise in unholy living, even in the body of Christ. One school of
thought believes in the totality of liberty by God’s grace, while others,
though acknowledging the liberty this grace brings, believe that the preaching
and teaching of “extreme grace” will lead to living in sin.
I believe the Bible is the final authority
on any subject in God’s kingdom, and as Christians (especially preachers and
teachers of the Bible) we must give ourselves to all it has to say, not
appropriating certain portions to fit into our denominational doctrines and simply disregarding the rest.
