The Gospel Of Grace Series: Found Guilty, Made Free!

I love the letters of Apostle Paul to the saints at Rome and Corinth, written indeed to all that are called to be saints wherever they may be found. Paul, formerly a zealous persecutor of the Christian faith, and brilliant teacher of the law and later called by God to preach the gospel (1 Corinthians 117), makes an interesting proposition on the subject of grace.
He addresses his letters to the saints (Jews and Greeks) in such manner that gives us a profound revelation on the subject of grace, justification, sanctification, righteousness and so on, more than any other author of the books of the Bible. Rightly so because that is what God called him to preach! Hence the Pauline teachings remain an indispensable tool in our quest to understanding the gospel of grace.

The Church at the time of his writings were made up of Greeks who were at the centre of world civilization and therefore found it difficult to accept that Salvation according to the gospel of Paul could come from a man who died on a cross. The Greeks were more sophisticated; they sought for wisdom (1 Corinthians 122) and incurred the wrath of God upon themselves by their abuse of nature. Paul said they “profess to be wise yet become fools” (Romans 118-32).

The Jews on the other hand, were more of the religious creed who believed that Salvation was a product of the works of the laws of Moses, and took pride in their knowledge of God to the scorn of the gentile world. They boasted in their works by the law and attempted to make themselves judges over the Greeks, but Paul said they were just as inexcusable from the judgement of God because they did not keep the law (Romans 2). Paul’s doctrine of grace rather sought to unite both Jews and Greeks in the fact that the cross of Jesus and faith in His finished work of redemption was indeed the only way to salvation and total wellbeing.

The Gospel Of Grace Series: Understanding The Foundation Of Grace

Whenever I think about the grace of God, I am simply overwhelmed by God’s amazing love for mankind. That’s what grace is all about. The goodness of God that cannot be earned is now freely extended to man by faith.

You see, in order to understand the foundation of God’s grace, you must understand the state of separation and hopelessness mankind was thrown into after the fall of Adam.
Man was created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 126), and there is a reason for that. First of all it was to create an equality of fellowship between God and man. God is a Spirit (John 424), and He created Adam essentially a spirit being.

It is impossible for a man to have fellowship with a cow, regardless of any emotional attachment there might be between the man and his cow. Equality of life is required if there must be any level of understandable communication and functional relationship between two living beings.

The Gospel Of Grace Series: You Should Know What The Bible Really Teaches.

So much has been said about the gospel of grace, its revolutionary teachings have flooded the Church lately. So much also has been said about the danger of such teachings in the wake of an unprecedented rise in unholy living, even in the body of Christ. One school of thought believes in the totality of liberty by God’s grace, while others, though acknowledging the liberty this grace brings, believe that the preaching and teaching of “extreme grace” will lead to living in sin.

I believe the Bible is the final authority on any subject in God’s kingdom, and as Christians (especially preachers and teachers of the Bible) we must give ourselves to all it has to say, not appropriating certain portions to fit into our denominational doctrines and simply disregarding the rest.

Religion Fades Where Truth Shines!

The greatest need of the Church today is not miracles, it is the revelation of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; it is the full understanding of Who He is, what He has done for us, what and who we are in Him, by virtue of what He has done for us. The greatest tragedy of today’s Church is not Satan, it is ignorance. Satan’s edge over Christians and the Church is founded on the element of ignorance.

We have been very vehement in putting forward our sinfulness and inability to please God, yet we are in serious poverty of the truth of what Jesus has done for us—all that is available to us by faith.

The 'Madness' That Can Change Your Life!

The first time I heard the gospel, I said to myself “this is absolute madness!” Yet the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ changed my life. Now, I’m not perfect, no one is; but I’m glad that when God looks at me, He doesn’t see my imperfections; He sees the perfect image of His Son Jesus.

The change I found is taking me from glory to glory, and from faith to faith as I learn every day to focus on the perfect image of Christ, and not on my imperfections. Praise God!

Now as I attempt to contain my joy, let’s consider what the true gospel really is (and I can bet you a fortune, this will change your life!).

Welcome To Timeless Gospel Blog!

Hello everyone,

My name is Bright Benson, and it is my honour to welcome you to Timeless Gospel.
This blog is designed, as inspired in my heart by God, to teach the immutable counsel of the gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed by the Holy Spirit, in all of its truth, power and glory, making it as relevant and applicable in our lives today, as it has always been and forever will be.

You know, one of the major reasons why God the Father chooses to reveal Himself to us is to strengthen our spiritual relationship with Him. From the creation of Adam in the Garden of Eden, to the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the heart of a loving God Who wants a relationship with you is made known. Think about it, God the creator of the world, all-knowing, all-powerful, self-sufficient, just can’t get over you! Now that’s simply mind-blowing.
